The plot is still open for awhile, although TNT hasn't said just how long, so you may still have a shot!
Unfortunately this also means that the prizes are going to be worth very little in comparison to those of the LDP.

If they'd just give me a Fauna avvie I'd be thrilled! As it is......actually, I like the sidebar and will use it for the forseeable future. After all, I love Acaras and Fauna is my favourite Neopet (and Acara) ever, so yeah, gotta use it. I'm pretty disappointed that there's not a Fauna keyring or some other cheap item (like the other plots have taken to having 12 keyrings/etc. for the 12 groups).
It really was a mini-plot, but kind of odd that just guessing very lucky on the most recent plot gave you an item that's now worth 2 millon NP, whereas if you spent hours on the mini-plot, your items are all buyable. Not so good. They also kept us waiting so long that we were expecting great things...
Oh well. I'll use my Fauna--er, ALTADOR--sidebar with pride.

Well I'm happy I got prizes, and a spiffy trophy that doesn't make me look an idiot!
Plus the sidebar is bee-utiful, so I'm not complaining
