I just got my first microdermal done today. In my forehead. It was excruciatingly painful but it's going to be GORGEOUS when the swelling goes down!!!
Anyone else love body mods or have a microdermal?

Tattoos are better
My ears are pierced six times and I stretched them to 14g at present. I'll probably go up to 12 soon.

Tattoos are more expensive, and I'm gonna have to wait until I can (a) save up the four digits it'll take to get my back piece done, and (b) find a tattoo artist that can deal with the unusual nature of my skin. Plus I'm allergic to some dyes/colorings, so I may need to have a few trial runs just to see how I react to the inks. I don't want to spend a few grand on an elaborate back piece only to have a horrible allergic reaction to it!
My lobes are pierced 3 times each but I'm not into stretching so they're all 18-20g. My heaviest piercing is 12g. Still, I've got 11 piercings total, had another one but it rejected.
I'm hoping the microdermal won't reject. It took too long and was way too painful for me to deal with it running away.

Arrggh, you two are so lucky---I want several tattoos and a nose stud; but so far they are pretty expensive on my part. xp Darn job... All I have are fake tattoos and fake nose studs.
But I have my ears pierced twice in each ear, and my navel's pierced (which was a grad gift from my mom).

I've got two piercings in my right nostril -- it really wasn't all that expensive to have it done. Cost of jewelry plus $40 or so to pierce each. Be sure to have your piercer custom-bend a screw for your nose -- nosebones aren't suitable for a fresh piercing at all, and hoops are harder to heal with. (I have hoops in mine, but that's because I like the look and two nose screws that close to each other would just be too complicated.)

And no guns! Only needles! So in other words, not Claire's. Your best bet is to find a tattoo/piercing parlor, they should do it right. The piercing guns are just disgusting really. Can't be properly cleaned.
Well, I'm still trying to work on my John Lennon tattoo, and I know what I want on my back, not quite a back piece, but still something big, bigger than what I currently have. It'll cost a pretty penny. I currently have 14 tattoos, four on my back, two on my rib cage (left), one on each wrist, one behind each ear, two on my upper left arm, one over my left breast, and one on my thigh. It's addictive and I am nowhere near done. I've definitely spent a grand or more on tattoos. They relax me and are gorgeous when you have the right tattoo artist.
I love those corset piercings, but not for me! I was thinking about getting the seventh and eighth piercings in my ears and leave them at 18/20, but I dunno. At least to 12 you can still get away with normal earrings and the holes don't look massive. I had contemplated snake bites or just one lip piercing, but it really isn't me, and I have to think about future jobs.
How I love my tattoos <3

Yeah, guns = evil. Find a clean piercing/tattoo parlour with experienced artists and you'll be fine. The nostril hurts quite a bit and can be slow and frustrating to heal, but it's totally worth it. You can put a clear retainer in it to hide it if you work, but be sure to get glass or quarts and not acrylic!
Corset piercings are pretty, but they're guaranteed to reject, so most of the time you've got them they're red and angry-looking. Then you're left with a bunch of scars all over your back. It sucked bad enough when my eyebrow piercing rejected!
Can you really wear normal earrings alright in stretched lobes as long as they're not like ... hardcore stretched? That's been one of my primary concerns, aside from how they look empty.
And I'm lucky. I've got facial piercings, a microdermal implant in my forehead, and purple hair. Working online has its benefits!

Probably good advice---I think there's a tattoo parlor that does piercings for 25$, but I haven't gone in there yet to find out which ones. I never have much time, but my mom pointed it out to me the other day...
And I'll be sure to make sure when I do get one, that they'll custom bend a screw.
*clears throat* Too late for Claire's. I had gotten my second set of piercings there. I think the girl screwed my ears up a little (one looks a tad higher than the other side, but I can never be exactly sure). When I was six, and got my ears done, I had a gun done. And the girl threatened me! O_o Sheesh... I did have a needle for my belly ring, I think. I was trying to hold my breath, in order to calm myself down (I tend to do that a lot, with anything) and right in the middle of the procedur, it's like, "You can breath, you know". Eh... it's wasn't that bad; felt strange. Now I don't feel a thing, unless my jeans press against it and get it caught. XD
Mbif, curious to why I would/should hide my nose stud if I work? Just wondering *how* you meant that---heh, if you meant that they may not allow it there---there's been at least seven different waitresses with nose studs, and a few other people (cooks/dishwashers/etc.). *chuckles* I'm way jealous of them. But I'll keep everything in mind. ^^ I want to save up a little first. And pay off my credits cards for those pants at Hot Topic. *clears throat*
...by the way, I tried to dye my hair purple a few days, but it washed out. x_x Ugh, that was terrible... Is there any kind of dye I could use on my hair that'll last 4-6 weeks, that'll fade gradually, yet works in a lightened brown-colored hair? I tried dying the front strands of my hair and then random streaks through the rest, and it all washed out (yet was SUPPOSED to stay it for 4-6 weeks. *rolls eyes*). I had to resort to red hair dye in a can:

Surprisingly, it came out nicer than I thought it would, and got a lot of compliments on how great it looked; but I wanted the purple! *LOL* And yeah, that's me---I'm scary (but I don't bite!).

I just meant in case your place of work wasn't keen on facial piercings, or if they allowed them only if wearing retainers/concealment jewelry. A lot of places are uptight about facial piercings, but if your workplace is cool with it, then no worries.
I use RAW dye. I generally use Purple Passion, but they were out, so I had to go with Deep Purple this time. I have pretty dark brown hair, so I bleach the heck out of it first, then leave the RAW dye in all day.
Here's a pic of it pretty freshly dyed http://www.omgimages.net/img/244/47633.jpg
It doesn't look that blotchy in real life, I swear. ;)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes yes yes. Even at 14 I can get away with wearing normal earrings. You can tell the gauged earrings are thicker, and there is less variety in many cases, but it doesn't look like you have a doughnut hole in your ear. I think I will end up going to 12, there are some lovely wooden and bone carved designs I want to get, but they are really only available online or proper tattoo/piercing places. I wouldn't be able to wear them at work mind you. I just stick to bog standard small hoops with spikes on the end. The problem is when you leave the earrings out for a long period they can start to shrink and close up, but that is the same with any piercing. I leave mine in 24/7 cause I can.
