I just started, but so far I've had mixed results:
Darigan Techo was adopted to a new user whose account was frozen two days later.

Shadow Jubjub went to a new user who bugged me to zap her other pets.

Darigan Lenny adopted by a new user who runs an adoption site.

White Ruki skill in the pound after a month (go adopt poor Kniket!)

I've got an island bori now, but I'm thinking of being a little more selective and trying to get her to a specific user instead of leaving her out in the blue and just hoping she'll get a good home. That's my advice if you're thinking of doing the zap-and-run.
