Server Crash

It's a shame that NI got hit by a nasty server crash.
I was just wondering whats going to happen now? Will the posts that were lost be restored?
I'm okay with everything, I would just like to know whats going to happen.

oh sounds like a shame but well I don't mind a helpful bunch of people and friendly to chat with...  *even from my 65ish posts jump to around 200 posts I've been trying in the nearly past 2 months...*
if it is not too much, could webbie explain to us what actually happened? If the memories are too bad, let it pass then, surely most of us will pull . Don't be too upset webbie

The hard drives failed, both of them and the only working backup is from June.
I'm afraid all the lost posts are gone for good.

At least June isn't a long long time ago, I'm just wondering why none of our posts from then are showing up? The forums look so empty!!
NI has been having a lot of troubles lately, I hope this is the last of it!
Good work getting the site back up and running Webbie, and of course for saving the database!

Hey, things like this happen, you just have to deal with it. At least we have a backup somewhere in time! Means all is not lost Webbie is amazing, so we know she will do her best on restoring and making sure she never has to do that kind of work again xD

I think most of the forums default to showing threads 2 weeks old or newer, so the really old threads aren't showing by default. They appear to still be there; you just have to change the forum setting yourself to go back farther.
I'm just glad you got the site back online, Webbie...very sorry to the role-players (that reminds me, I'd better go archive my role-plays on another site!  ). But I'm just glad the site's back; this is my favourite place to chat Neopets, by far. :D

Yeah, it seems like everyone's post count went down. Mine was well over 1000...
Ah, well. It's not the end of the world. We'll live!
Thanks so much to Webbie for saving the database! That would have probably been the most work to restore.

Oh I see... it's okay though as I've said... at least those who cares and helpful enough are all still here AND as others have said the database is still up for everyone to check and see every single neopets items.
heh, I don't do role play. I guess that is a good thing for me

I was really confused when I saw all the roleplays were missing... I returned in time for the Food Fight roleplay to have existed for a full year, and I saw that the food fight, along with countless other roleplays, had dissapeared...

Yeah, the missing roleplays were confusing to me, as well...
Also, even though, thankfully, my account stayed intact, my signature and avatar were returned to their previous setting.

Surprisingly, nothing changed about my actual account. Besides a minor change in my post count, I only noticed the missing roleplays.

I'm in the same boat, just got back from five weeks away and was eager to read the posts but at the same time prepared to be overwhelmed by the number. Very glad the items database was saved though.
