Neo ID?

Hey,

I noticed you guys stopped using the Neopets ID number on the site.. just wondering if this is a permanent change? I found that having access to the ID was extremely useful, I'm really hoping it's not being dropped altogether.

Thanks,
Cyth

Re: Neo ID?

It is permanent because people have been copying the info from this site to put on others. Sorry.

Ahh, okay. That's too bad, it was really useful for organizing shops. Thanks for replying though

Re: Neo ID?

Well, that just totally stinks. I had been wondering about why the ID numbers changed suddenly. I maintain an off-line (private) database for my own personal use. I laboriously changed all the numbers by hand to match the "new" ID numbers. Now I find that they aren't ID numbers at all. *SIGH* My database has 4,000 records in it! Gee, I wish I had made a backup before I started changing all of them . . . or used a new field . . . or something. Crickey.

Re: Neo ID?

I re-read my post and have to remind myself never to post in anger. another *SIGH* I do appreciate that neoitems is here and it is an invaluable reference tool. I'm more mad at myself for being so dumb that I typed over all the original ID numbers I had entered (in my database) rather than saving them first. Hmm. Nothing like starting over again, I guess.

Re: Neo ID?

So if this is permanent, so why do people still recieve Neomails with questions about the Neo ID?

Re: Neo ID?

Because we are still collecting the Neopets IDs and ordering the site like that, it is just that most people can only see the neoitems ID, not the Neopets ID.

Webbie still adds items to the database using the Neopets ID.

(Correct me if I'm wrong, Webbie)

Starry is right - we still need the same info, it is just that people can't steal it now.

Re: Neo ID?

I was wondering that too. A friend of mine got a Mynci Cristo Sandwich, and we couldn't find any info on it. Then I saw it in the MIA section.
