estimated price on neopets database

what happened a few hours ago it would show estimated value of the items when you search the database now it's not there?

I believe this is about the conflict going on about the ImproveNeo which is the program that gets these estimations.
So far there is no clear way to now if ImproveNeo is 'legal' in neopets terms, and apparently some people have been frozen for using it.
I'm pretty sure this is gone for safety reasons, but until webbie herself confirms us with why it's gone, we can't tell if it'll be back in the future or not. I hope Neopets gets their facts straight soon, it isnt really a cheat program in my opinion, it just provides you with easy acess links and transmits data from one page to another, it's not doing the work for you, you still have to 'work' for everything.
I'll leave my rant alone for now *breathes*

I've never posted before but I LOVED this feature 
Its just grabbing info fromt he website, no different then neodaq does with stocks all day long.
I really hope they bring this back, neoitems wont be the same without it!

I don't know if it will ever be coming back. There was no point keeping it online any longer because the prices were getting old and inacurate.

It makes sense it is like the stock market databases, it only reports trends, however, neopets has a habit of changing anything that helps you make more nps! I still think this is a good site, but may not come as often without the feature.

true but they weren't all that inaccurate. i used this tool so i know what i can buy with the np i have to test for the Chef Bonju avatar. i hope we can use this again =/

That feature was great, I used it all the time! I used it for my packrat avatar and I use it for finding items in certain price ranges for my guild activities.
How can it be cheating to know the prices of items? It is a shame, people put so much work into that too.

if showing estimated prices is cheating, than being a premium neopet member will soon be forbidden too.

Regardless of the accuracy, the prices at least gave you an idea of the range - low/moderate/high and unbuyable - very, very useful for stocking a shop, determining appropriate gifts, getting some idea of the value of an item, etc. --without having to go look up each individual item on the shop wiz - or super shop wiz -- and, as far as I can tell, this was the ONLY place to get ANY idea for a range of like items. I truly hope it will be returned, since it is only informational - does not give you any other advantage, you still have to go through the same channels to buy the item.

even though it wasnt completely accurate, i liked it because i am a plushie collector and it would always give me an idea of which i had to really save up for when i would catagorize by est. price. Now i have to check them all individually and with all the plushies that are on my to get list... well that could take more time then i have

This feature was the only reason why I used Neoitems.

I've "used" neoitems for almost a year before the prices came. I'll still be using it long after. This is a great site. It gives you the NAMES of items. Checking prices is pretty hard if you don't know what something is called.
Besides, this site has always been more than just a database. There are some really nice people here.

You know, you have a very interesting point there. For all TNT go on about not using other programs etc. because you'll have an "unfair advantage that other Neopians do not have", they themselves offer an unfair advantage, just to get some more money. Premium members have a lot of advantages that your average player doesn't, and not everyone can afford, if they wanted, to get Premium membership.
On the other hand, most of the advantages TNT talk about being forbidden, are in fact free and available to anyone who wanted to get them. ImproveNeo being one of them. I'm sad to see it go from the site, but even more so that TNT are being so ridiculous about all this that they've forced such a move. Being able to see prices with items was a valuable tool and helped me a great deal when I participated in the Secret Santa. The ability to see items that were within my means made choosing and shopping a thousand times easier.
In short, now I've ranted about it, sorry to see it go, but NeoItems is about more than that. Those of you who are saying you won't bother with the site anymore, I'm not sorry to see you go. This site is a fantastic place to be, the forums are full of wonderful, helpful people and Webbie and her team have put so so much work into the database, it's still a staple for every restocker, even without prices.

i was surprised not to see the prices, but figured the answer was some legality... neoitems is a great reference tool, but it doesn't lose its value because one of its columns is no longer there. and the fact that its supportive members rallied round supports the notion that it's more than 'just' a database.' it's the best site of its kind!

I know I am very disappointed to see the prices go. I have gotten used to this feature, and loved being able to see approximate prices (whether they were dead on or not). Please, please, PLEASE bring us this feature back!!!! That's the main reason why I used this site, and I truly think it was the best new addition ever added.

I use this feature EVERY time I am on this site! I use it to choose new items for my shop, to shop for my friends and fellow guild members, for items I hand out to those who participate. I use it so much during holidays, almost daily. This feature has been available since I have been on Neopets, without it much of my use of this site is gone........

Why do none of you read and understand that in the end it is beyond her control?
This site is wonderful in every possible way. I've been here for years, long before prices were added and even such in-depth info that you see now, but that isn't the only reason why I come.
Most of you who have posted here can't seem to realize the potential this site has and has always had and as Seren said, you should leave then, we won't miss you, but I know stuff like that does nothing for Webbie. Far too much work is put into this site for people to suddenly whine about the lack of a price range. You're lucky this site even exists and have no right to make those statements.

i truly miss the estimated pricing and being able to put the items in order for lowest to highes. Like other's I used it mainly to restock my shop and to find items for my gallery withing a certain price range. Please bring it back
