Kass Basher?

What's your opinion on the new name for Whack-A-Kass: Kass Basher?
Personally, I think its a step down.

Whack-a-Kass is more suitable..

There was probably something going on over on the legal side of Neopets. "Lawyerbot" probably told them that it was too close to some other game's name or there was something wrong with the name. They also changed Whack-a-Ghost and Whack-a-Staffmember (spelling?).

LOL. Sorry but the law is so ridiculous. It seems sensible that it would be due to that. There's no reason to change the names otherwise - everyone was comfortable with them, they were suitable, all was good! It just makes me laugh that they have to jump through hoops that are so pointless.
They've yet to update the images (specifically Whack-A-Kass) so at least they're still identifiable. The names are now... so stupid... Kass Basher, TNT Staff Smasher, Ghost Bopper?! LOL!!
Edit: I wonder if Splat a Sloth will be next?

I think Splat a Sloth will be fine, because if it would be changed, it would've been changed with the rest of 'em, and it doesn't have the word "whack" like the rest of them did.

Lawyerbot's programming was updated and he learned there might be some "whack-a" games that existed prior to our Neopian games, so we renamed them. (He tends to be touchy about those things.)

Hmmm, that's so sad. None of the new names have the same ring as the old. I wonder if anything formal was brought against TNT, or if they changed it on their own will?

The only "Whack-a-" game that the Neopets Team did not change is the one in the Game Graveyard: Whack-a-Beast. Either they didn't notice it or they see that it really isn't in circulation anymore and, thus, really does not need to be changed.

Maybe the arcade game Whack a Mole is a trademark and they violated the legal aspects of that. Whack a staff member is a computer version of the game...

I'll bet you're exactly right. I looked it up and Whac-A-Mole (yes, spelled without a "k") merchandise is still being made by the original company that invented it back in '71.
I'm almost sure that's the reason, because there's a big bubble on the Whac-A-Mole official website that says "Licensees Only".

The big bubble isn't the reason. It just warns people that they don't want their Whac-A-Mole name used unless they authorise it.
It is the 'TM' beside the name at the top that tells you they have a trademark on the name and that there could be a problem for Neopets if the Whac-A-Mole people decide to sue them.

OMG I'm not crazy!!! I started to think maybe I made up Whack-A-Kass since it didn't say that anymore... and I was all confused... but yeah I don't like the new name at all.
