need gopets help-quick!!!

i haven't been on gopets for ages and i need to get to grips my first question why is there a kinda grass background?

It's the default background. It's always been there. If you pay for premium you can buy different backgrounds and I think there are some backgrounds you can buy even if you don't have prem. Drag and drop your new background to the main area/wallpaper or background space (it should have somewhere in the text above or near it to let you know that's where you can change backgrounds)....I think the background option hasn't changed much but I could be wrong, still, I hope this helped some.
