Buying from the Trading Post

I don't have much experience here as I've always bought cheap, cheap, cheap. But I have some NP left now that my collection is finished and I've decided to buy some of the Peophin items I'm missing. They're all trading post items.

My feeling is that I'm offering too much because all my offers were accepted. In each case they were the lowest priced one there -- around 200,000 -- and I offered about 15,000 less than asked.

How do you decide how much to offer on an item? What about when none of them have a price listed -- just "make me an offer" or a group price with a willingness to separate?

Gotta shoot as low as possible. You can always work up. The 15k less than the lowest price offer you gave is a collecters offer. But you could have saved a bunch of np if you really wanted to. Kinda depends on the item but as a general rule you can neomail them an offer of half of what they are asking, then work up from there if they don't bite. For that 200k item I'd say don't end up paying more than 150k.

Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Something weird is going on with the Peophin Bubble. I knew inflation is a big problem right now -- that's what happens when they don't release new items into the "economy" -- but that's been increasing in asking price about 100,000 NP a week. Very strange.

HTS items often tend to have really erratic price patterns. Always think of the rarity and how many are about, what use the item is to people (i.e. the peophin bubble is a rubbish bd item and only for peophins - so there aren't too many buyers)

Also, as an extra hint, I brought one for my bubble gallery for 150k a few years ago. I probably wouldn't pay over 200k for one.

I don't know what an HTS item is.

The inflation has been mad recently. About 2 months ago, when I started my final buying spree, I priced all the Peophin items I don't own. The bubble was going for 160,000 and there were several on the TP. They're all looking for over 500k now.

The Desperado Mask was 170k and is pushing 500k now.

I'm just using whatever NP I have left to buy Peophin stuff I'm missing. Got all 4 squishy plushies and a few other items. I have enough left for 2-3 more but Peophin Day is later this month so I might wait to see what new clothes they'll have available. (I know the clothes will be the only items actually released.)

Ha! I'll never finish it. There are 3 games I enjoy playing right now so that's about 9,000 NP a day income (and I don't bother to play them every day.) And, among the Peophin items I don't own are Full Peophin Armour and 4 morphing potions.

It's just that since I have retired as a pack rat, I felt I might as well buy something with the NP I have left. I might abandon this idea and just buy their clothing (new Peophin clothes will be released in a few weeks) and spend the rest on stuff for the house and garden.

Positive thinking! You might finish it by 2050

I'll be 97. If I'm still around, I'll probably be too senile to know what a Neopet is and too arthritic to hold a mouse.
