I need help in the maze!

help, I found everything except the thorns and now i'm stuck in a loop-warp and i can't even get back to the ship. nor can i find the thorns 
this is a glitch isn't it?

I believe you should automatically have the thorns. AH! Here's what Neolodge says, it is a glitch, but you can fix it:
"if the thorns do not show up in your inventory, this is a glitch. Go back and reread chapters 4 & 5, then return to the maze, you should have the thorns in your inventory"

The problem I'm having is getting back to the boat now---I have all the items. I seem to be in a never-ending loops of the same winding paths and it's completely messing with my mind.
And I reported the glitch, because I too end up with that mountains and no paths. x_x

SHould take them a couple of hours to fix it.
I got my loop fixed as soon as they got in the office.

My glitch is that there is no steam vent in my forest; I've mapped and gone through all the pathes twice

If you're sure the item is missing send a bug report.
But that is only if you are 100% sure its not there.

I never got a steam vent.... Unless I knew it as something else?
And in the steps to rebuild the boat it said use the steam vent to do something, but since I didn't have one I used something else instead of the steam vent and it worked for me.

yay i found the thorns thanks!
and i randomly found my way back too 
i think you were supposed to have completed one of the other previous puzzles to be able to find one of those items

The thorns turn up after you read the comics I believe. I didn't even bother mapping the paths, I wasn't quite sure how to do that. I just clicked, clicked, clicked. It didn't take too long anyways.

yeah it's because i don't read haha 
hmm never thought tnt would force us to read 
i remember i mapped out the 1000 tombs before so random clicking this was a lot easier because there's not as many as the 1000 tombs (whew!)

I used the link the OLDPD boards gave me to a labelled set of screenshots, but they called what I used a 'Large Tube'. Is that the steam vent?

Yes, the Large Tube there is what I'm referring to as the steam vent
My map changed again though, and lo and behold, I found a Steam Vent in the new forest so I'm all good!  There is no notification that you've finished this step right? The boat is just sitting there and there is nothing left to do?

Once you use the items to fix the boat you are done.

how many items are there in the plot maze, and do you need a saw to cut the branch

As seen by the screenshot I posted in my last post, there are nine items.
And yes, you need a jaw bone to cut the vine, which you can get by finding the link on the Mootix in the journal map. I'd suggest using a guide as this part could get quite confusing.

Yep.. the guides say that there's no notification and we have to leave the boat waiting..
unless there's a step we (and the guides) haven't discovered yet..
