Why do I always start the new topics?
I've hardly been playing much this year.
I do love the new games though and will probably be playing alot from next week. I really don't care about the sheilds but it'll take along time ot get there with out playing Yooyuball. Oh well.

Maybe Gooly. But the person that posted that link to explain how to figure out the ranks, gave more credit for Make Some Noise than Yooyuball. So, you never know. I can try to help you learn to pay YYB if you want. I'm fairly good at it.
I want to know how my team did against KI!! I'm dying here!! 
My rank did go up though, I'm 5 now.

Well, I read through it, but I got nuffin. I'm still a beginner and I've played over 150 games. I dunno.
I thank you for the offer, but I rarely have time for noise making it seems. Maybe I'll take you up on it soon...

I believe to move up a rank from beginner to rank 1 you must have 50 wins in YYB. I just had my rank change yesterday after reaching 50 wins. And I believe ranks continue to go up by 50 wins until a certain point.

Hmm... maybe I can level up tonight. I've been really busy through last week (mostly awesome concerts) and I'm kinda sick of being stuck at level 6. I think I'll watch The Godfather Part II some more while I play; two boring things done simultaneously make one decent evening. ;-P
Yesterday, I saw screenshots on someone's petpage of a 12-0 win. On my second game after that, I scored my first 10-0. Interestingly, I saw 10 on the in-game scoreboards but only 09 on the result page. I counted all my goals yesterday and the number today shows that ten were counted, not nine. But the petpage screenshots showed 12 on both the in-game and the results scoreboards. Maybe 11 and 12 register on it properly.

oh god who in the world has time to play yyb and the other 2 games nonstop like this for days on end?
last year, the cup came on in june which was the end of the high school year for me so i had track championships, final exams, state regents exams, prom, graduation... and i didn't play yyb at all

I've been really slacking too, getting around 5 wins daily for the past few days. Except yesterday I forced myself to play and got 21.
I'm just getting SO sick of yooyuball! I'll play a few games, take a tiny break, then forget I was playing YYB, and go a while without playing. I've been packing for our move too, so that cut my playing time way down. We'd better get great prizes for all this suffering.
I'm just still thrilled that Roo Island beat Krawk Island in Yooyuball the other day.

I was always quite lazy with my supporting of my team, since I'm not very good at any of the games, but I've hit an all time low. Now I'm playing solely for the shield. I calculated I needed about 300 games of Noise on top of what I already had from the Slushie game, so I'm just opening it up, tapping a few times and pressing space. I've sent about 50+ scores a day, all of a couple hundred, and am nearly at the level 1 shield! Woohoo!
I think TNT need to learn a valuable lesson from this - we're not machines! We cannot just play the same games over and over for weeks! No matter of team support is gonna bring us to that level of brain-death!

I have to do 9 more YYB games to get to the Level 1 rank... I can't seem to motivate myself enough to do so.... 
I'm not touching the other two games... YYB is bad enough but to have to play the other ones more for the same amount of points... No thanks.

Sorry if this has been asked, but how many games of Make Some Noise has to be played to get the shield above beginner? I've played close to 100 games scoring between 6000 and 8000 per game and I'm still sitting on the ugly beginner shield

According to this user (Clickie) and doing the maths (hopefully correctly), you would need to play approximately 750 MSN games to go from the start of Beginner to Level 1... So you've got about another 650 to go... Good luck... Hope you don't have much of a life outside of Neopets.
(Having a look at how many MSN games are needed, it makes my 8 more games of YYB needed before I reach Level 1 look way better)

50 wins to move up to rank 1
100 wins to rank 2
I'm at rank 2 with 101 wins. I'm just going to have to give up playing to get a higher rank. But I don't feel bad about being only rank 2, its a lot of work to move up a rank. YYB is time consuming if you play as many games as possible everyday.

I'm incapable of scoring in YYB... I'm not sure why, I just can't do it. *sigh* last year it was easy and I didn't have any trouble at all winning games but *shrug*
I've had to stick with playing SS (can't score over 100 on MSN). I feel like I'll never get a decent rank...

My guess is that happens when either a) the scores for a particular match (or matches) is close or b) some player scored an inordinate number of games, and needs to be reviewed to make sure they're not cheating. It's happened a couple times already, but the scores will come up eventually.

Okay I'm suprised that you guys haven't noticed the pattern yet.
The scores are always under review on Sundays. I assume its because the system automatically changes over to the next game but can't post the scores until someone clicks the button on monday when the TNT offices are open again.
They don't work Sundays.

I've noticed it being under review quite a lot. It is probably because I am on when the new Neopian day starts. Almost every day I see the 'Under Review' thing for at least a few minutes.

Yup, it's Under Review right now. I find that if I come on early in the day then it's usually Under Review. I just figured that it's because no one's been into the office to say "Yep, that's all working fine" and released the results onto the site. Probably why you're noticing it more on Sundays as well then too; they're not working as early/many hours, and you might even be able to come online at different times.

Okay well - the various theories that people have posted re: how many games you have to play to go up in rank - not panning out for me.
Yesterday, I was at 98 SS and 12 MSN = Beginner
Today, I am at 112 SS and 12 MSN = Rank 1
I'm not playing YYB at all.
SO - when I do the calculations, no way do my numbers = 50+

Well, I've missed nearly all the action in this year altador cup! At least I come back just in time before it ends I must say I love the 2 new games idea. I have also tried the new Yooyuballs. I am getting there! Can't get goals as much as I did in last year. But maybe because it's my first day.... Seems like it's harder than before...
I've joined Roo Island this time (all because of blumaroo is the team leader ), right now still don't know how each team has been doing... I am going to search that information as soon as possible.
May I ask what was the last year prize exchange page link? I still haven't cash out my last year altador cup points  I am worrying very much about that now....

Well the prize place is currently closed as I recall while this new year is going and will re-open and be updated when it all finishes and they get around to it. Soooooo, by October if you're lucky.

I am still in beginner rank.... How to get rank up? I played around 35 matches, played 12 times on delievery slushie and 13 times on Make some noise.

I've actually played over 750 games of Make Some Noise... and, as it stands, still haven't gone past the beginner shield. I am most disappointed. I've played just a handful of Slushie Slinger, but not one game of Yooyuball (well, none that I've done anything but lost in anyway)... I'm sure my calculations were that 750 games would get me a shield-up... apparently not

Well, the petpage linked on page 1 said low MSN scores don't count towards your rank. That's probably your problem. I don't think I could stand even a couple hundred games of MSN, let alone SS.
I'm pretty sure I'm just burned out at this point... I mean I've basically lost the will to play the game. I sent in my 666th win yesterday. Hopefully I'll win something nice, because I sure ain't paying real-world money to rent dresses and backgrounds for 90 days. :-/

*raises hand* That's me. I played a bunch of games of Noise yesterday and it hasn't even updated the number today, let alone the shield! I give up. I really didn't want to end up with just a beginner shield such that it looks like I haven't done anything at all, but looks like that's how it's gonna be
AND Krawk Island is 3rd or 4th place at the moment... stupid Altador Cup. Did runners up etc get anything last year? Apart from a stupid trophy... which I dunno if we'll even get this year, since we aren't allowed to switch teams. *sigh*

Well as long as Krawk Island stays in third of fourth place, there's still a chance for them to make it to the finals. And you never know! Team Shekuu is really surprising, coming up from about seventh into the top four.
Runners up did get points to spend, of course, not as many, but still a fair amount.

This year, I think the 1st and 2nd place teams play for 1st place (with runner-up being 2nd) and the 3rd and 4th place teams battle for 3rd place.
Ah...3rd place, here we come, Krawk Islanders! I think we'll get a trophy corresponding to our rank in the game. I'm glad we can't switch teams (although lucky that I picked one of the top 4). I want to support the team I like!

750 times of MSN must be really tiring! I somehow think shield doesn't matter much having hear Seren played that much I hope everyone who put effort in this year Altador Cup will get a fair share with prizes at the end.
