Yay! Dr. Sloth is one of the worst villains and yet he hasn't been involved in a plot for years!

*Brushes dust off of the Dr Sloth Pinata*

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any steps to complete, yet.

I hope that there is some fighting or even a full-fledged war for us to participate in. If they allowed us to pick sides based on the color of the grundos, I would probably pick orange because it is my favorite color.

Yeah, I was kinda shocked, too, when I saw that. I'm excited, though. ^^ And I still need to remind my best friend to get involved with it, if he doesn't know by now.

Looks like the Virtupets Space Station has been redrawn. I wonder why they did not make it in Flash format. Maybe they plan on changing it again after the plot is over to get rid of any links that they might add to the map for the plot.

Re: The Return of Dr. Sloth

*pokes at board* Why you not showing properly?

Nevertheless, today's step was nasty! I have completed it, but I now have a very achey left clicky finger.

My strategy was to get all the one codes out of the way, then go through doing some twos until a three stopped having that 'incomplete data' message showing. Then I shamefully used a decoder (whose creator has now been frozen for cheating.. leetle bit scared here) and the desired message showed up on my second try. Hurrah.
Plus, of course, I threw in a heavy sprinkling of perseverance. Hey, if a pre-teen can do it, then so can I!

Re: The Return of Dr. Sloth

There are no set values for ANY of the code glyphs on the 3 Mod level. If you put in Mod 1, Mod 2, and Mod 3 and get result “X” then remove them and then replace the exact same Mod 1, Mod 2, and Mod 3 glyphs that you just had in there in the exact same order and it returns “V” or some other completely different value! You can even leave your Mod values in place and simply click one of the 1-30 options and it will change the “result” every time without ever changing the values or glyphs in the Mod boxes. The 1 Mod and 2 Mod difficulty levels DID have set values so you could work them out as an algebraic equation. the 3 Mod level does NOT. It appears to be purely dumb luck and a cruel set up for tedious work on the part of Neopets…

The Mod 3 codes Definitely DO have set values. You were trying to solve one that said "Incomplete Data". You can not solve those until you have solved the other ones.

Hmm.. I think I might have misled you with my use of 'level 4'. What I meant was the fourth level in the cargo bays puzzle - the one where you reunite Cylara with her family. I did manage it in the end, but it took a lot of meandering and flicking between two steps until I could lure the guards close enough to kill 'em!

Sorry but I can't help you Puff Just make sure that it doesn't say "***INCOMPLETE DATA***" at the bottom of the three code ones and perhaps try working through it logically, it'll take ages, but you'll get there eventually. T'is a horrible step to come so early.

No, you need to do the other's first. The incomplete data one will have numerous outcomes and the symbols will continuously change until you've completed one or two the others.

Yeah, I just read about that on the NeoBoards. No wonder it was changing every time I entered the same one in. Duh. *rolls eyes at self* I'm still having problems on the three-mod ones, though, but I'm reading another completely different guide that seems a little more explanatory, so maybe that'll help. KyootestLenny's pet page is helpful. It gives you a chart that shows you the combinations for different keys and targets. It was confusing to me at first and I have found that it is hard to explain, but, if you stare at it long enough, you might understand it. It will take some time, which is what TNT expected when they created this plot step.

Actually, I found this page a LOT easier to understand, and also used SunnyNeo.com to see which codes matched up already.

And I know what you mean about JN's---I didn't get one word they were syaing when I was trying to solve it. But anyway, it becomes a lot easier (just long and tedious after a long while) when you finally grasp the concept of what you're trying to do. XD Killed my brain cells though...

Is there no other way to solve these 3mod other than to take the possible combinations based on your key and target symbol and try them all?! I hate this step, it is pure evil.
Just to get through and do one possible 3-letter one (like all the OOT) is annoying, and then there are 11 more of those, and then that puzzle might not be the one you need.

I think I might just wait and hope jellyneo come up with calculators and strategies for this. Until then, guess I'll keep sticking my hand into a black hole.. *is waiting 180 seconds*

Edit: Oh, and while I'm in a grumpy mood, can I just say these 'Work with other Neopians' plots are the least fun thing in the world. I have to wait for three other people to do every single thing right to be allowed to move on, and I'm not allowed to talk to them? Sheesh. I get the feeling that this is going to be the first plot I've been unable to finish.

Well, I've not had much luck with anything in this step, quite truthfully, but it's better than just waiting and playing in the BD that is getting quite boring---not even the Battle Faerie avvie is coming to my rescue!

I never got to grave dig, unfortunately, in the ToW plot---because of my dial up, and I wish Neo would get you a few more seconds to actually get something in this plot. I got kicked out of the second step... er, third step, actually, since there WAS no first step.

But I'm determined to finish this plot, myself. Why? Just to say that I finished it, and get the trophy after all my hard work. Plus... well, yeah---I just want to beat my one friend in the whole plot, I'm competitive with them like that.

Re: The Return of Dr. Sloth

Oh... I didn't know there was an epilogue. Thanks for posting that! It was very cute.

I managed to do a few tests so hopefully I'll have some points. I don't mind just getting a trophy though.

I'll be optimistic and say prizes are going to come out in April. Probably late April.... Very late April.

41,500

So I assume most of the points were awarded for the hardest parts of the plot.

Wow, that was posted fast! Don't they usually show this when they give out the prizes?

Resistance Commander

Man, my husband is going to be mad!! I got more points than he did, and I have no clue why. He tried hard to get as much done as possible so he could get a good prize. He even did the group part that I didn't do, and got his mods done way before I did. It makes mo sense that I'd get a better score than he did.

Those aren't our trophies are they? Because they are seriously ugly...

I think they are, Seren. I kinda like mine, though.

Wow, I didn't think I even got to do that much... I maxed out three of the BD challengers and did all the steps but... wow.

I think my trophy is pretty.

Apparently some are really cool... My friend's Defender of the Cosmos Trophy:

Glad you like yours but... meh, it looks a bit old school art work to me.. like how they used to colour/shade the old items. It certainly looks out of place amidst all my other pretty shinies.

Not as high as I would have liked, but I guess it's okay.

Seems most of the points came from battling then.
Resistance Commander with 53,350

Did the group thing 14 times.

Looks like they haven't put the trophies up on your lookups yet. Maybe they will when/if they release prizes?

Dude! That was QUICK. O_O *loses bet completely* *LOL*

Ah, I'll just wait until I actually *see* some pictures so I can buy my prizes with. ^^ *browses*

*pets trophy*

Edit: I was sure this was a joke at first. XD Probably still is... But I do like some of the prizes---some of the images I STILL can't see (as they're broken) but whatever...

I created a new topic with all the images for the items.
