I got one from the fire faerie, a yellow petpet paint brush. And I got 2 Christmas Paint Brushes from winter random events.

I've played for almost 4 years now and *never* found a paint brush.
Only one I ever got without paying (well, from neopets) was in the referral program and it was golden.

I got one from the fruitmachine last year. It was a cloud paint brush.

If petpet brushes are included then I have found about 3-6 total paint brushes. The best being the Electric from Electric Blue Monkey God. Jacko was generous, winter random events and a something has happened.

I haven't found any at all, but I've gotten 2 or 3 from the fruit machine.
