Is intelligence finally used in Neopia? Is it associated with FISHING? My four pets, one is a genius, who has the highest fishing level at 9, two are average, they both have the same level 8, and my dimwitted little Bori only has 5.

Now that I think about it, my smartest pet has the highest fishing level also! Wow, forcing your pet to read pays off!

Hmmm... well, then perhaps it is a coincidence. You know, neopets has told us before that certain colors on pets give you advantages in battledome lol, maybe if you have an island pet... XD or a Maraqua pet! Heheheh...

All my pets have the same intelegence, and they have differet fishing levels, so I don't think it has anything to do with it...

whoa! my smartest pet has a higher fishing level too! Though she has been fishing more than the others....
Isn't it funny though that when you get junk your pet's fishing level increases more often than it does when you get good stuff?

My smartest pet (143) has a fishing level of 8, but my grundo has a average intelligence has a fishing level of 10.

My smartest pet has a level of 16 and my maquan dumb pet have a level os 20 almost, so it really matters on the pet and skills, I have a guide on my look-up if you want to see it.

Random = Funny (or not, it's random)
My smartest pet has the highest level... because he's the only one I'm absolutely sure I'll keep forever, so he always visits first, and I've read him the most books. (Three. Possibly four.)
Understand: if his time limit isn't expired, then nobody else gets a chance. If he catches something, the others can have a go, but their random time limits aren't necessarily finished. If they are told to wait a while, they don't get to try again until the next time my main pet goes.
So... if you have a favourite pet that is active the most, and to which you read the most, it will gain fishing levels the most. I won't say intelligence has nothing to do with it, though.

I think it's coincidence. My smartest pet is at level 23, and she has an intelligence level of 168 or so...but my other pet, who hasn't even got a number next to her intelligence, is at level 28.
Though maybe species has something to do with it, as my highest level pet is a Koi.

But the way you have your pets fish ensures that he will always have the highest level. I take both of my pets at the same time, too, but if one catches something and the other doesn't, then I will try once an hour until I get offline to get the other one to catch something. Some days my Kougra fishes the most, some days my Koi. My Kougra is the luckier of the two, but my Koi is the one that goes up levels the most consistently. So I'm not completely positive intelligence has anything to do with it.

I only fish once a day because for me, it seems like I have to wait a full 24 hours before it lets me fish again.

I only have one pet, I fish every 12 hours but I never increase levels, I just get my beloved Breadfish. It's totally random.

You can only catch something every few hours but the higher your pet's level is you get better things. It dosn't matter of their intelligience.

i'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but, can you get a pet out of the pound and still have it's fishing level? does the fishing level dissapear or does it stay like a normal level?

Only one of my pets has points at the moment. I'm waiting for that pet to gain a level, and then I will change pets. I'll most likely keep that one active until they gain a level. So I don't know myself.

I never get good stuff. And the ones who I take fishing more often have a higher level than my yurble who is indeed my smartest. I haven't taken him that much though.
