I am wondering, since the little images on the scrolls match the images above some of the doors, that if you read the scrolls, you can then enter the door with the same symbol on it as the scroll you read. I'm sorry if that didn't make sense, if it didn't tell me and I'l try to clarify!

Nope it's a hour thing or something (like the fishing). I have been there twice today ;).
Edit: Maybe you will get open a tablet piece when you read a scroll?

When I read it ,it gave me a piece if the tablet, but it went straight to the table,t not my inventory

You need to pick all empty doors (ie. the black corridors) until you come to a door with a symbol ON it only, and then you go through that door. It took me like 20 minutes to get to the library though.  If you try to go through any door with a symbol OVER it, you'll get stuck in some kind of trap, or your pet will look like a pile of sand for a bit.
Does anyone remember how many pieces the tablet originally had? I did manage to pick a scroll in the library and supposedly that helps fill in your tablet. But I only have 4 pieces in my tablet; I don't remember if that's the number I started with or not.

I've picked a scroll, too, and have 4 pieces on my tablet...but just like you, I forgot to look at my tablet first. :-\
