Is there any way of telling which scrools you've already "read" and which you have left to read? I've totally lost track of whos read what. Suggestions?

If you mean the scrolls in the temple (I don't know of any other "readable" scrolls) you only need to read one. At least as far as anybody knows (unless something happened over-night that I don't know of yet).
On your faerie statue in the temple, one of the 12 symbols is engraved at the base. The only scroll you need to read, is the one with the same symbol. This is what helps you access the scroll repository site. If you've already gotten that far, you probably don't need to read any more scrolls at all. At least not yet.
