You get the trophy before you spend your points, actually, as far as I can tell.

Am I correct to assume that everyone only gets a chance at one keychain (their symbol's)? I assume Lats aren't just special. And am I correct to assume that you have to have played in the plot to get the sidebar, or not?

Ah they are speical thoes keychains, I had the option for a Djo keychain. Although I don't know about the sidebar.
