What BD items are most effective?

Defeating Punchbag Bob is all about patience. You have to keep hitting him until he is out of hitpoints. I would recommend getting the faerie ability, Drain Life. It will take 100 hitpoints from him.

You can only use an ability once, so Drain Life will help once. You need good multiple use weapons. I think the first time i killed him i was doing about 45 damage. So i had to hit him again, and again, and again, and again...

When I beat him the first time, I bookmarked the fight and came back to it a while later. :D Other than that, lots of patience.

I went into the battle with a weapon which only did 5 HPs damage per round. (And I thought that was good... LOL)
Patience is most definitely the best weapon you could have.

Well, not like you need to hurry to defeat Punchy.
Just train your pets more and more and get better weapons for them (if you really intend to play with them on the battledome).
The better your pets/equippment the less time you spend to beat Punchbag Bob. This is what I call the best way of defeating him.

Make sure that after you have defeated him you view the ending fight page. Otherwise, you won't get the trophy. I fought Punch Bag Bob twice.

i recommed the an ability , "drain life" which will take 100 HP. and some better weapon andlots of patience

I used the scarab ring and the improved lightning beam and i used the faerie ability spark over and over again. it did about 15 hp per attack

the first time i beat him i had less then 20 in any stat and i had 2 sinsis swords they cost a bit and arent used much any more you can pick one up for around liek 150 - 200k
just use multy use weaposn and take your time best bet is to use tab or open anothe browser and use onyl one for punching bag bob and if you need to take a break use the other tab or browser to play neopets or do what ever you are doing ont he net
