I have tried to beat them and they always get me really quick. The last one I lasted 3 rounds and was out. Here is my pets stats.
Species : Buzz Level : 8 Health : 236 / 236 Strength : AWESOME (64) Defence : below average Move : EXCELLENT (43) Intelligence : ULTIMATE GENIUS (132)
Here is my equipment. Scarab Stone Slingshot Snowglobe Staff Scarab Ring Downsize! Radioactive Muffin Double Dryer Exploding Snowball (2)
Abilities: Night Vision Magic Berries Tough Skin Water Jet Quench Temporal Leak Magic Torch Spark Air Shield Magic Pebbles Fiery Gaze Smoke Screen Fiery Roar Flash Bless Heal Nighttime
Can anyone tell me how to beat them. I don't have lots of money to spend on getting new weapons and I go to the ray everyday to so my level changes a lot.

I am no expert on the BD, but with your defence, I think you'll have a very hard time with them, unfortunately. I don't remember how I beat them at this point (except that it took AGES) but I definitely had a full dark blocker weapon (Ring of the Lost), and probably a full physical blocker as well (Winged Scarab).
As far as I can imagine, you'd almost have to get your pet's level high enough to use the faerie abilites Burrow and Sink, which would hopefully block enough damage to keep your pet in the game more than a couple turns.
You might try a Leaf Shield, which would block some of their physical and water attacks....but your defense is so low, I don't know that any shields will help you much. You'd almost need a to use full blockers (that block ALL damage from one icon, instead of just a number of icons based on your defense). You can try a Downsize!, which blocks 50% of every icon once per battle. They're inexpensive.
And obviously, you'd try to freeze the Henchmen first turn and bomb them with your biggest weapons the second. But if that doesn't just about finish them up, if the Henchmen use their worst weapon (15 icons!), I imagine your pet will be hurting pretty badly, even with its high HP.
Good luck! Hopefully someone much more knowledgable than me will post soon.

I am no expert either. I haven't able to get a win over Meerca Henchmen yet. I've tried 5 times and all lose (even thought out of those 5 times, 2 times get very close to winning). How close you able to wipe their HP during battles, could you tell us?
As far as I could suggest there are 3 choices (in my opinion): 1, keep zapping and eventually you will get even better HP and a bit more strength stats 2, keep zapping and once your pet turned into some neopets that have cheap + good healers, you could always buy one of those healer and then get your level up to at least 20 to learn burrow. Then you will have much better chances 3, upgrade your set with even more powerful bombs, stronger shield, better main weapon (one main is enough), better freezer and a healer.
sorry don't know what to suggest otherwise I know choice 3 is not what you would like to hear but it will still very helpful for your further mission....

Good luck, I'm still trying to beat the Henchmen too. My pet's defence is GREAT (31) and other stats are even better, but they still beat me every time.

For the record, I beat the Henchmen with an expensive set and a pet just slightly below its current stats of:
Health : 83 / 83 Strength : AMAZING (91) Defence : AWESOME (60) Move : GREAT (37)
My Defence might have been 15 points lower, but strength was most likely 91, and HP not much under 80. So if you're not at least in the ballpark of that, and don't have an semi-expensive set, I wouldn't think you have much of a chance.

I could not beat them earlier with Shienar, who's stats were slightly less than now: Level : 6 Health : 240 / 230 Strength : AMAZING (91) Defence : GREAT (26) Move : mach 2
But, I did not have great weapons, Scarab Rings, Snowglobe Staff, Lead Shield and Ezploding Snowballs, if I remember right. I stopped to keep my bad BD score from getting worse. I'll eventuaaly force myself to get decent weapons and try again, eventually.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I upgraded my level to at least level 10 but the ray took that away again. I did get faeries to bless me first. I learned burrow. Right now it's a chomby. I'm going to start training level and defence and not use the ray for awhile and hope this helps. Then I'll invest in some good weapons. I'm cheap lol

The best advise that I can give you is to keep training.
