Well, chapter 2 is quite good. Can't believe they found the island so fast. But I HATE spiders. UG!!
Anyone know what we do from here?
OK. I see we need to fight the hated spider. LOL. But I absolutely stink at the battledome. Anyone willing to give me some pointers?
Update: Yeah me! I beat the snot out of that monster.  I know you all aren't that impressed but this is the VERY FIRST time I fought in the battledome during a plot. Sir Draico is my fighter and we don't have much practice. So, I'm really excited that we did it. *pats herself on the back*

With one pet I cannot fight the spider anymore, with the other pets I can fight it though. Does anyone have this too???

ive fought it 23 times, its easy and im getting loads of points/score and bumping my % up (its never really recovered after the mayor thing)

Personally, I finished the puzzle part in five minutes. But that's just the way my mind works. But here's how I did it. I put the biggest pieces down first and then before I put down the smaller pieces I looked to see how they would fit. If they didn't then I'd go back and move the bigger pieces around until I could fit the smaller pieces. I also just took it step by step and looked at the items I had to lay down, not the box. Hope this helps those of you who are stuck.
My current boon is the stupid giant bug thing. I've never been very good at the battledome and I have no idea what to equip to my neopets. Anybody have any suggestions?

Yeah! That hasn't happened since the Giant Spyders in the Battle for Meridell.

wow, I'm amused I'm a total goober whenit comes to the battle dome but apparently the Obsidian Dagger and the Altadorian Initiate Sword are all it takes to beat that yucky spider.

I suppose that it is kind of like a spider, but it also looks scorpion or prey mantis-like. Possibly even an assassin bug. Anyway, I think that I will fight it when I get home. Hopefully, there is not too much lagging in the battldome.

Yeah, I was gonna say.. it looks more like a scorpion to me, especially in this pose.
I've been fighting away, it's really really easy to begin with, but the hp go up and up the more you fight.
I just got the Battle Faerie avatar too! This plot has multiple rewards

its pretty easy. mines up to 100 HP now and my pet is 102 HP and still pretty easy to beat. in fact i just beat him without healing and i still had 56 HP (or thereabouts) left at the end. though my pets strenth/defence is in the 50s too
i use 2 scarab rings and "shoyru inferno" attack, or sometimes fireball
