Hi I'm new here thought I ought to say hello!
I have a question too. I tried to upload a jpeg as my avatar and I'm getting an error message that says 'improper image type' . The jpeg is 80x60 pixels and I pasted in the url where it's hosted.
Is there something wrong with the url? here it is

The image has to end with .gif, .jpg, or .png, I believe... so you will want to resave it with one of those file types and upload it again... if the image isn't yours, you should probably put it up on photobucket or something similar anyway in case the image ever gets removed from the site it's on or if it is, just change the name so it ends with one of the three above.
 Hopefully it should work then.
