what are the best healing things (like elixirs) that you can take into the batlledome to heal while you fight? and reasonably priced ones by the way. what do you recommend?
or better still is there a list somewhere of all the healing items with how many HPs they restore?

Blue or Bronze Scorchstone are quite good - both are reasonably and cheaply priced due to mass Tarla giveouts.
If you have a pet of the correct species, the following are good investments: Kacheek Life Potion, Elephante Unguent, Gelert Healing Remedy.

i would reccomend the scarab ring because it attacks the opponent and defends you at the same time

The scarab ring may be a wonderful cheap attack and defense weapon but it doesn't heal.
