The news says the pound is coming back, and yes you WILL be able to do true pet transfers (limited to one/month). Pounded pets lose their clothes (even paintbrush clothes), but transfered pets keep their clothes except for NC Mall clothes, I believe.
Anyone else excited? I finally get to give that Koi over to my friend (I don't like Koi but she does :/ ). And I'll get a pet of hers that I love! Hooray!
I suppose if/when my former Island Acara turns into a cool colour, I'll have to shuffle pets, though. 
It also means that I'm not going to zap pets so they can get adopted by others anymore, since the clothes won't go to the Pound and you can only do one transfer/month (plus it's a pain to find an owner, heh). But that means I'll get to start my wicked plan of adopting Acaras, zapping for clothes, and then sending them back to the pound when they change species.  )

Hey taradith, check your jill_pole account (what's your main? Please NeoFriend my ndroae account with it  ) - I'm now zapping two Acaras and I want to know if I should save any colour for you (including a transfer for clothes).
Regarding mercy zapping, I figure there are plenty of colours that look cool even, erm, without clothes - and hey, I'm fine with getting to keep the clothes if not. Actually, since I like to arrange adoptions, I can just transfer them, though sometimes I might not be able to wait for another month.
Apparently you can't switch pets between accounts with 4 pets each. Hmm... someone's gotta go.

I haven't Neofriended someone in so long I don't remember if you get some sort of confirmation, Andro, but I tried. You will NEVER guess the name of my main account (hint: it starts with a Tara and ends with a dith ;) ).
You're awesome, Andro; I would SO love to get a Halloween Acara! Actually, I'm foolishly zapping my former Island Acara on my main because I got bored--even though the only Acara clothes I need for that account are Halloween, Christmas, and the Snow Scarf. (Well, and Royal and Pirate but the lab won't help with that. ::dreams of a FFQ:: )
And I guess I can zap Acaras and abandon them if they turn into pretty colours without clothes too. :D Actually, the first thing I'm going to do when the Pound is back up (besides abandon my two lab pets on my side) is go adopt that poor Ghost Xweetok I abandoned right after the Pound went down and I didn't know it. I'm not keeping him but I have his userlookup bookmarked (I was waiting for someone to adopt him and wondering why no one didn't) and I'm soooo tired of seeing the tears in his little eyes...
I wonder if this transfer thing is a way for TNT to get users to make more accounts to increase their supposed audience numbers. I'm wondering if I should make a third account now, just in case, even though I'll have to let it wait a few months before transferring, of course...

Seems to me there's enough incentive already for side accounts (and 5 isn't enough IMHO... well, it sort of is, but if they really want to claim more accounts... I'd make 10+...)
Any way, I'll keep that in mind. :D
(Have a feeling something might happen... leaves this mesage open to zap one of them...)

Thanks a ton for the offer but I have a pet I was really looking forward to picking up Monday.... (If the "one transfer per month" means calendar month and you still have him in May, though, I'd be happy to take him off of your hands and into my side account jill_pole. ;) )
(And yes, I DID get another side account so I could get more pets. Aridin_Nightstar the Eyrie does look quite fetching, though, if I do say so myself. Unfortunately the account is 9 hours old so I don't THINK it can accept pets yet. )
EDIT: Red, Flyleaf, Project 86???? Is the genre of the music in your signature accurate? (I've been to concerts with at least 2/3 of those bands. I see you like other stuff too but it's not that often that I see people who listen to the same genre I do. ;) )

Sure, I've got two other lab rats on that account which are not at all final yet. And there's actually a strong chance I'll be spending the summer working at a remotely located summer camp where I'm not confident I'll be able to zap every day, so I don't reckon this limit will bother me much at first.
Meanwhile, I'll keep zapping his petpet.

I sent in 2 questions
-- if the petpet attached to a pet that is being abandoned or transferred was zapped by the petpet lab ray, will the petpet revert (it isn't being removed from its pet).
If it won't revert, all of my pets on side accounts will make trips to my main account for petpet zapping.
-- what about petpetpets? Will they go with the pet and petpet?

For question 1, I believe TNT said that petpets will NOT revert. They never used to in the old pound.
I can't answer question 2 but I THINK they go with the pet and petpet.

Ugh; I think the pound was open briefly Monday....when I look at the petpage of my poor neglected Ghost Xweetok who was stuck for like a year, it says the owner has been frozen. That doesn't seem quite fair...poor Xweetok...
EDIT: There's a theory TNT is freezing those pets to keep the database from exploding or something...I don't know.
But I just adopted a pet and transfer appears to be up too!

Well, I finally got rid of _MarshmallowBaby_... it had been so long I couldn't wait for it to go, cept I forgot that my 75 day old Gruslen for the avatar was attached, and he has already been adopted. I'm peeved, to say the least.

The new Editorial confirms that the millions of pets in the pound were "frozen" and will be gradually released at random times. Should've figured this would happen.

Hooray for the return of the pound, at long last! I am sure that many are thrilled with the new transfer option, especially those who do adoption programs.
Yup, TNT said that they had to freeze those millions of pets and gradually rerelease them. I can imagine the pound would explode otherwise - a year's worth of pets!
