Nihil is my firstborn and she is as weird as her owner :D. Since she was born and i could afford it, she has been zapped by the lab, so give or take 4 years now i think lol. She loves being lab zapped but her ultimate dream is to become a darigan draik. Our dream has been partially accomplished so far. She has always been there to spend time with me and teases me mercilessly when im beeing silly.

Well; Rie’s definitely *one* of my favorite pets ever, and not *just* because she was my very first pet when I joined Neopets almost eight years ago. She’s a female pirate (and will officially be so whenever she does convert to a pirate Uni) with unique coloring of purple solar, and her attitude is tough and sarcastic most of the time, frequently pessimistically optimistic, but caring to those she loves---which is merely a few; starting with her Angelpuss overall, and has an obsession (a CRUSH!) with Captain Rourke (;D). She’s teased often, much to her dismay, and doesn’t get the respect she deserves (or wants). In reality (out of roleplaying context), she’s often the one spoiled by me, being the one to have gotten NC Mall items first, or painted first---and her petpet was one of the very first. When not fighting off pirates or plundering treasure, she’s usually found reading and has a fondness for playing the guitar. She’s just *cool* (and no one knows why. XD).
…yeah, *that* was brief. XD Sorry, long-winded.

4) My Faerie Draik Alianelle. She's one of my favorites because of her species and color. She's my only pet that I've really put lots of Neopoints into, the only one I've ever spent points on a paint brush and potions for. She was a Kacheek, who I painted cheaply a few times. But after the redraws, I didn't like the Kacheeks anymore, so I made the decision to change her to a faerie Draik, since it's one of the few pets I like now. It's the most neopionts I've ever spent, the rest of my pets are from the Lab Ray, so she's a little bit more special to me than my other pets.
I'm like Puffkins, I'm saving for expensive paint brushes. So having an expensive petpet that I've wanted, but not been able to buy for myself because of my saving, would be really great.

And aye, it's a shame all the P/B's are way too inflated anymore---it'll take me years to get all my pets painted the way I wanted them. xp And cost me about 12 million, too. *rolls eyes*

The Hidden Tower is not closed. Occasionally it shuts down for an hour while Fyora is off doing other stuff but it isn't closed. I'll add that only three paint brushes are available there, so it hardly controls the cost of them all. If you go repeatedly and it doesn't work, your Neopets account is probably under 4 months. No user under 4 months can access it.
The reason PB prices are inflating is that people are buying them to use to paint pets to trade through the pound. It used to be against the rules but TNT now allows it, so, in order to get more "valuable" pets, or just to make their pet's paint job more valuable, people are buying and either using or holding onto the PBs, which inflates the prices.
It's all disgusting.

I agree that it is a bit disgusting.
It makes people feel like pets are their properties and can be traded like items, rather than being loved.
I know that neopets are not real but, the thing it resembles...
Well, the good thing is, if you want to change accounts, you can move your pet with you.

Chanteuse, so what you're saying is that people are selling painted pets? That's still against the rules although I don't know how TNT is going to put a stop to it.
I'm also convinced that, as usage of the site has grown, the availability of paint brushes and morphing potions hasn't increased. If there are 3 times the number of active players and the same number of paint brushes given away or MPs stocked as before, they are effectively three times as rare as they used to be.

Poeia, they're not "selling" them for items or for NP... what they are doing is giving pets a "value" and then using that value to decide if a pet trade is "worth it"... Some people even get FFQs and offer the person they're trading with the option to essentially pick the pet they want... "You give me your unconverted faerie kougra and you can have any colored pet you want that can be made in create-a-pet... and you can even pick the name"
TNT has addressed this in an editorial stating, essentially, that, for the time being, it's fine for users to do this.
I don't see how this is anything short of "selling" a pet but apparently TNT disagrees. I only hope they will reconsider in the future.
