I am trying to figure out how to remove an item from my closet and put it back into my inventory, any ideas on how to do this??

Go to your inventory and click closet there (directly under Neopian Bazaar). It will then work exactly like your Safety Deposit Box. (I spent 20 minutes one day figuring that out.)
