I agree that it is a bit disgusting.
It makes people feel like pets are their properties and can be traded like items, rather than being loved.
I know that neopets are not real but, the thing it resembles...
Well, the good thing is, if you want to change accounts, you can move your pet with you.

Chanteuse, so what you're saying is that people are selling painted pets? That's still against the rules although I don't know how TNT is going to put a stop to it.
I'm also convinced that, as usage of the site has grown, the availability of paint brushes and morphing potions hasn't increased. If there are 3 times the number of active players and the same number of paint brushes given away or MPs stocked as before, they are effectively three times as rare as they used to be.

Poeia, they're not "selling" them for items or for NP... what they are doing is giving pets a "value" and then using that value to decide if a pet trade is "worth it"... Some people even get FFQs and offer the person they're trading with the option to essentially pick the pet they want... "You give me your unconverted faerie kougra and you can have any colored pet you want that can be made in create-a-pet... and you can even pick the name"
TNT has addressed this in an editorial stating, essentially, that, for the time being, it's fine for users to do this.
I don't see how this is anything short of "selling" a pet but apparently TNT disagrees. I only hope they will reconsider in the future.
