haha well personally, i think it's favortism. but tnt don't get fan mail from readers, only the authors. i only read the comics (i don't like reading long things) and there are on-going series where the user has gotten in like tens of times, like 'neopups' & 'spooky' that i really like because those deserve to get in but then some of the other series aren't very good at all...
by the way, nt 300 is coming up so they'd be accepting A LOT more entries for it plus i think you get an avatar/something coveted if you get in right?
and i know for the comics, just like for nt 200, there are going to be massive crossovers (b/c i got asked to do one but i turned it down) and crossovers are only possible for series comics.
